So tell us about yourself and your brand?

- Founded the brand after toying around with different ideas on what I could do that was crazy yet stylish. Decided I would take the term “opposites attract” to a whole new level and combine something sweet with something meat in as many different ways as I could. After all, what is more iconic in America than steak and ice cream?

How did you come up with the name?

- Was thinking in the shower one day, decided I needed something crazy enough that it couldn’t be forgotten. So whether you love or hate Sugar Steak, it’s a name you won’t easily forget.

What best describes your line & who is it targeted to?

- Anybody who wants to join the Sugar Steak family and wear clothing that makes you feel like an individual. Particularly those into street level fashion, tees that are printed in low quantities and are not easily accessible to the masses.

What influenced you to start this line?

- Got tired of seeing too many shirts covered with skulls, daggers, glitter, dragons and all other sorts of “douchey” fashion.

How is your brand different from others out there?

- It’s unique, try wearing a Sugar Steak shirt out and about without getting comments on where you got it from or what it means. It won’t happen.

Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?

- Time management, legal stuff such as trademarks, and just making the brand relevant to consumers. Other than that it’s all fun and doesn’t feel like work.

What ways did you find promoting your brand worked?

- Street promoting and word-of-mouth. We have yet to do any kind of formal marketing, right now we work solely on word-of-mouth from our consumers and street promoting (aka putting stickers all over stuff).

Are there any future plans for your line?

- We would definitely like to do some collaborations with other street wear labels.

How did you hear about FKN Famous & what do you think of us?

- Received an email, I dig the clean layout of the site and of course the name “FKN Famous” is dope.

Any last shout outs?

- Shout out to everyone that has supported the brand and helped spread the word. Spilt Ink for knocking out our screen printing, Urban Media Lab for filming and putting together video pieces for us, Dave Brewer Photography for organizing some killer promos, and last but not least Positive SLC for all their help with facilitating print and design work.
