So tell us a little bit about yourself?

– My real name is Tracey Devonte’ Marks, but I go by the stage name of Mark “Lethialous” Lawana. I was born and raised North Philadelphia, so Philly is the city I represent. I rap, design clothing and I love Hip-Hop.

What inspired you to start singing?

– As a child my father wrote music and had mix tapes out, around the house. Seeing him listen to such a variety of music amazed me. Rap is the way I choose to communicate in this modern day society; Hip-Hop is my voice. Knowing that I touched others through the creative work I do also reminds me of who I am, and reveals to me that I really have a talent as well as a place in this world. The first Album I ever brought was Kanye west The College Dropout. That album inspired me as an individual to open up and be myself without the fear of rejection from my community. I grew up on 29th in Cecil.B. Moore in North Philadelphia where “Raw Thug Rap” was in it’s prime. That kind of Hip- Hop I just couldn’t relate to, well I could but that wasn’t the life my Parents wanted me to glorify even if it was right at our front door. Being a child from North Philadelphia transitioning to a boarding school (Girard College) was an extreme change in my life; I was battling who I was and who my environment thought I was at the time. Kanye West Inspired me to be myself even if society wasn’t comfortable with that at the moment.

Were there any hard challenges you had to face in the industry?

– The Hardest Challenge when facing the industry in my mind was decision making. The choices you make are similar to the tar that beholds a car upon a street. If you don’t lay out a plan the decisions you make won’t get you anywhere because you’ll have no vision. Only you know the rightful steps to your success because there’s not a person out there in the world who knows your flaws as good as you do. Once you realize your flaws in your art as well as yourself and come to terms with them, you began to better yourself as well as the people you come in contact with; Positive energy only brings more Positive energy.

What ways have you found was the best way to promote yourself?

– The best way to promote yourself is through networking from the people you meet at events to the websites you scan through for your favorite artist or your general music update. Instead of listening to somebody else’s music on a blog site , why not put your own music on that site? Anyway you can promote yourself online is a most definite way to promote yourself its “Free” and at the end of the day somebody knows your name that didn’t know it yesterday rather that be the leader of that blog or site that rejected your music or a music lover who visited that site or blog that posted your art.

What would be your most memorable moment while singing?

– My most memorable moment was when I performed with Astrosteez at the Philadelphia “Akwaaba Album Release Show” I performed for an audience that was actually in the age group that my music is geared to. I usually get gigs that pak in audiences between the ages 28+ they love the hip hop i present but there not the ones buying the albums & coming out all over the town for shows and that night downtown at the Goldilokz Gallery I finally got my wish while being along side of Astrosteez, P.L.C & The Primoklass Family (Philadelphia’s upcoming music groups). It was a great event with many talented artist and I enjoyed myself to the fullest.

Are there any goals that you would like to achieve?

– My current goal is to reach a wider audience; develop a stronger fan base. I plan on creating a Single and promoting it to the point that it’s everywhere in order to increase my fan base and the knowledge of who i am and the talent that I have to bring to the table regarding music.

What can we expect from you in the future?

– In the not to distant future you can expect videos from me ( I’m Looking For A Camera Man Willing to Work With Me Throughout My Career) and you can expect a Psychedelic MIxtape Dropping late fall or Winter called “Shadowz” .

Are there any upcoming albums you are releasing?

– I’ve been slowly progressing in a concept for an upcoming album, I actually have singles for it recorded but my team & I are currently reviewing concepts for one. So you can definitely keep a ear out for more information on an upcoming album from me in the future for sure.

What do you think of FKN Famous?

– Fkn-Famous is Hella dope … I love the site and the way they distribute and stay on top of the latest trends in the media…The sites well organized and completely gravitating to the viewer. If you want to find out who’s next up who should you go to “Fkn-Famous.com, If you want to Find out the hottest clothing out go to Fkn-famous.com, and most Importantly if you want to find out about local artist or you just looking for a dope team of professionals to get associated with Fkn-famous.com are the people that you want to do business with..
