Bodega, established in 2006, has been a staple of Boston’s street wear scene and a leader in creativity amongst the worlds most recognized brands and stores. The infamous snapple entrance, which you have to find to actually enter the boutique part of the store, offers a unique retail experience to first time customers and fashion officianados alike. In this new installment of FKN Visit our staff photographer and contributor Phillip Szeto takes you on a quick tour of Bodega! The infamous snapple entrance, which you have to find to actually enter the boutique part of the store, offers a unique retail experience to first time customers and fashion officianados alike. An unsuspected outcome is a sort of mini social experiment, which is evident whenever a new customer walks into the store. While some embrace the environment they first encounter in the front part of the shop with open mind and sense of curiosity, others shy away in fear of the authentic “bodega” look. Some customers open the door and simply walk away thinking there’s no way this humble facade could house the heralded hidden gem. sneaker heads, fashionistas, tourists, students and people from all walks of life enter to see something new and cool they’ve heard about. But As employees, what’s new, and often an adventure, is seeing new customers and there reaction to an environment a lot of us see everyday.” – Randy Price of Bodega
