So tell us a little bit about yourself?

- My name is B. Nyce. My softer side is known as Alec Burnright; ladies love Alec. I rep CLP: Carmel Labs Productions. We have a pretty nice blog that is gaining traction quickly! Check it out at CLPNation.com.

What inspired you to start singing?

- I had been making beats for a while, when I grabbed the mic. It was almost a natural transition from beat-making to writing and then ultimately all three. I was truly inspired by my favorite artists and want to pass that feeling on to others. I want to make a person want to grab a mic when they hear me. I want to make a person want to do SOMETHING with their life. (like for real).

Were there any hard challenges you had to face in the industry?

- Accessibility, really. You factor in the DSL-R camera revolution, and Internet pirating?? You’ve got 80 million mini-silo indie camps all fighting for the same nominal glory. Biggest challenge we face is reaching the masses with new and innovative music, when they expect more of the same old bunk.

What ways have you found was the best way to promote yourself?

- Whether on the Internet or on the street, the best thing to do is have one follower. The first person to follow you is really who sets off the chain reaction for the masses to say to themselves, “OK, someone else is doing it… *looks around* I guess I’ll join.” Your first follower is a brave soul; acknowledge them, they bring the rest with them.

What would be your most memorable moment while singing?

- My last verse, every time. But really, the biggest crowd I’ve seen is a few hundred. So the most memorable moments I have are my first few times rockin’ the stage, eyes closed and hearing that people enjoy my music.

Are there any goals that you would like to achieve?

- Many. I want the blog growing into something major. I’d like to quit my job at that point and live off advertisements and MAKE MUSIC. My love. I want to make Mainstream music without “selling out.” I want to be wealthy in Mind, Body, Soul, and POCKET by earning a living doing what I really care about.

What can we expect from you in the future?

- I don’t want to be Jay-Z, but I can tell that the INFLUENCE he has is something I aspire to have as well. You can expect good music, and (again) innovation.

Are there any upcoming albums you are releasing?

- I’m looking to release an EP online at the end of October called “Pilot’s Cabin” hosted by The Mile Fly Club.

What do you think of FKN Famous?

- I check out the site, liked the layout and decided to submit some work. I appreciate that you guys hit me back so promptly. I respect the professionalism, and co-sign.

Any last shout outs?

- Yo yo yo check it: big up to my Granny. What up Auntie C? One time for Carmel Labs Productions, The Mile Fly Club, and Money Sign Entertainment. All the rest, if I missed you, shut up.

  1. I remember listening to some of B Nyces songs while he was in Gainesville. To say he has grown as an artist is an understatement. He is becoming one of best local artists and when the masses start hearing his talent he we be signed in no time. I support his music grind and his beats are unique and dope.
