Today we’ve got a very special exclusive interview with San Jose’s very own Booger Kids! We’ve been following Booger Kids for quite some time now, an it’s a huge honor to have them featured on our website. So with that being said, sit back and relax and get to know Booger Kids a little more and how they started out in the industry! Also get a closer look at some of their latest apparel!

So tell us about your brand?

– Booger Kids [Grit & Grime Company] was founded in the Winter of 2009 in San Jose, California. Our brand is most noted for its care-free animated illustrations & masked identity. We don’t take much seriousness to our design definition. We just do fun stuff and translate that into the brand. Life is a party©

How did you come up with the name?

– The brand name was originally for a kids line. As sales grew for the toddler tees, we constantly saw email requests for Adult sizes. We tried it out and are now pumping out full graphic tee lines for Mens and also some womens.

What were you doing before launching your brand?

– We both had 9-5 jobs and would focus on the brand and print out tees after work.

When did you begin thinking about launching your own clothing brand?

– We thought about it while working our boring 9-5 grind and tried to really make it happen with apparel.

What best describes your line & who is it targeted to?

– Our line is best described as fun, playful, and not too serious. Care-free animated illustrations is what we do. Our target market is geared toward the 13-30 year old male/female. We are a young brand. To be honest, there is no age discrimination with us. This brand is for the young at heart.

What influenced you to start this line?

– We wanted to bring a more playful brand out to the market. We felt that we had great ideas and they needed to be brought to the table.

How is your brand different from others out there?

– We aim towards party lifestyle, but through animated hues. There are so many serious brands out there and we wanted to hit a different market.

Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?

– Like any business, there are a great amount of hurdles and struggles you go through but being able to surpass them is what makes a business strong. Running a growing business is a task of it’s own.

What ways did you find promoting your brand worked?

– Social media has help us from the get-go. It’s free, it’s easy. We also look for events that fit our demographic.

Are there any future plans for your line?

– We have a really great Fall & Winter 2013 line that we are truly proud about. There is a deep product list that will consist of graphic prints, accessories, headwear, and some cut/sew.
