Desmond Blair is a man hailed from Dallas. I’ve first met him at one of the car meets. From his smile, you could tell he is kind and genuine; but if you look at his art projects, you can tell more of what kind of person he is. Blair is the man who beats all of the odds. Watch this awesome video courtesy of Tony Walls Media featuring Desmond Blair in their first installment to “Get Inspired”.
The background story of Cupcake Meet is it was founded in 2009 by Tiffany Truong and Ty Nguyen. Originally, these meets were small events, but their popularity shifted them to be even bigger. Now their meets aren’t just a place to go see your friends and cars, they also serve a purpose. Cupcake Meet is now all about giving back to the community. They have raised money to donate to various of charities, from supporting mothers to injured soldiers. This time their event brings awareness of breast cancer (hence, “Cupcakin’ For Boobies) with Foundation 56 (founded by Bradie James, former Dallas Cowboys and now Houston Texans).
To be honest, when I first heard of SXSW, I was quite clueless about it. So thank God the FKN Famous mentioned about this event to me and had me head over to Austin to check it out! There were so many things going on at once in every corner, because, coincidentally, St. Patrick’s Day fell on the same weekend with the SXSW event. And from what I’ve heard, Austin’s infamous Sixth Street can get pretty wild.
